George Bernard Shaw was enchanted by this beautiful walled city Dubrovnik, about which he said “Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik”, as well as, famously, describing it as “the pearl of the Adriatic”. Located in southeast Europe, Croatia is geographically diverse. The crescent-shaped country features low mountains and highlands near the Adriatic coastline, flat plains that hug the Hungarian border, and a multitude of islands. Many are major tourist areas including the Dalmatian coast. Slovenia among the top 25 inspiring destinations. Slovenia is the green heart of Europe, contains within its border’s Alpine mountains, thick forests, historic cities, and a short Adriatic coastline. Four major European geographic regions meet in Slovenia: the Alps, the Dinaric area, the Pannonian Plain and the Mediterranean. Slovenia’s highest mountain, the three-peaked Triglav, is depicted on the national flag.
